Based in Sudbury, Suffolk, Simply Handmade is a small, friendly team of people who are deeply passionate about what we do. We take pride in the details, and in offering a personal, bespoke service to our customers.
After a demanding career in finance, I decided I’d had enough of the corporate world and chose to follow my passion – needlework. I have been sewing and seamstressing all my life, it’s a lifelong passion, and so I figured why not do what I love for a living? The result is "Simply Handmade". I'm loving every moment of this exciting journey; it's completely changed my life for the better. Every day seems to bring something new to our door, and I just love a challenge!
Known for my smile and cheekiness in life, I have showcased and sold my own handmade wares in no less than 14 UK counties. I have a wealth of knowledge and now help fellow artisans in all things crafty be it from helping them design new products or to think creatively outside the box. I also carry out all the marketing and social media posts for the Company, ensuring that we can keep you the customer informed with the latest news on what we can offer, not to mention keeping the Simply team busy for many years to come ensuring our future as the successful independent business that you have come to trust.
Meet the smallest (and possibly loudest) member of our team, our miniature dachshund who naturally is called "Simply". She was born on the 1st of July 2018 so she is a bit young for slave labour really! Here she is getting to grips with one of the machines but we think she is more destined for a front of house role meeting and greeting the customers. She might even make a guest appearance on your next visit to us.
Why are we “not on the high street”?
The costs associated with a high-street location mean we would have to charge more for our products and services, and we feel that everybody should be able to treat themselves to beautiful things, not just those with deep pockets. Besides we have ample free parking right outside our door and we are easy to find in Alexandra Road in Sudbury, Suffolk.
